                Under the scheme “Meingal Scholarship-2014”, the following students have been selected for the one-time scholarship of Rs.5000.00 (five thousand) only and a Certificate of Honour for their meritorious performance in the HSLC Examination-2014.         On the auspicious day of 15 August, 2014, Meingal's team extends its heartiest greetings and best wishes to students, youths, ladies & gentlemen, well wishers and all citizens of the Independent India on the occasion of its 68th Independence Day celebration.

             On this occasion, Meingal team is glad to release the notice of "Meingal Scholarship-2014" inviting applications from meritorious Bishnupriya Manipuri students who have passed HSLC Board Exam-2014 with 60% and above .

           The Scholarship amount will be Rs. 5000.00 only which will be awarded to only five students on merit basis. Students belonging from low economic background families from the districts of Kamrup, Cachar, Karimganj & Hailkandi of Assam state only can apply for this scheme. Annual Income of the parents should be less than or equal to Rs.1,00,000 /- (i.e. less than or equal to Rs.8333/- p.m ) and who work in non-government organization/private firm, self employed, unemployed, Casual labours etc.  Students have to produce valid income certificate of their parents along with educational certificates.

Students are requested to apply in the prescribed application format and send the same by post to the Postal Address of Meingal given below or personally submit to the contact persons given with contact numbers. Scanned copy of the application can also be submitted in advance through email to Meingal’s email address – meingal2010@gmail.com.

GIRL STUDENT ENROLLED UNDER ‘NINGOL’- GIRLS’ EDUCATION PROGRAM

         A girl student was enrolled by MEINGAL under it's welfare scheme - “NINGOL” : Girls’ Education Program in a function held on 23^rd March, 2014, Sunday at 11:00 hrs. at B. P. Chalihanagar, Bamunimaidan, Guwahati.  The beneficiary girl student Archana Sarma aged 12 years 7 months, reading in class-VII is the daughter of Ramchandra Sarma (father) and Alpana Sarma (mother) and she belongs from B. P. Chaliha Nagar, Bamunimaidan. She is the second girl child enrolled under this scheme. She will be provided with a lumpsum monthly educational allowance of Rs.750/- per month w.e.f. January, 2014 to December, 2015 for the classes-VII & VIII, Rs.900 p.m. in class-IX (12 months) and Rs.1000/- p.m. in class-X (12 months). 

           The Identity-cum-Information Booklet and an educational kit bag was given to Archana Sarma by Smt. Taraboti Sarma, wife of Bisweswar Sarma, Adviser of Meingal in the function. In the welcome speech, Sanjib Sinha, Vice Chairman of the NGO introduced about the purpose and details of the scheme. Mihir Sinha, Vice-Chairman of the NGO and Secretary General of the NGO Jolly Sarma also addressed the audience. 

          This education program specially for girl students was launched on 1^st September, 2013. The scheme was introduced with the aim to extend monthly financial aid at different rates from Class-I to X to girl students specifically who belong from below poverty level and from the Bishnupriya Manipuri community. Reshmita Sinha, aged 6 years, was the first girl student enrolled under this education program who will avail the benefits of the scheme till she completes her class-X^th .                     

           At the end of the program, educational kits were distributed to some children of the locality present in the function.

         Under the scheme “Meingal Monthly Educational Allowance-2013”, the NGO has awarded the Monthly Educational Allowance @ Rs.750/- per month for 12 months i.e. total amount of Rs.9000/- and a Certificate of Appreciation to the following 02 students. The educational allowance has been paid to the students through NEFT bank transfer to their respective bank accounts and certificates delivered through post to their postal address.
