3rd Annual Programme of Meingal
The 3rd Annual Programme of Meingal(NGO) successfully concluded on the Saturday evening of 8th December, 2012 at Shilpagram, Panjabari, Guwahati. Under the
scheme of Meingal Exemplary Talent Awards-2012, 06 personalities were honored with
the Meingal Bishishto Seva Puroshkar on the day in recognition to their
excellence in the mass media and social service
and 06 personalities were honoured with the Meingal Bishishto Shilpi Puroshkar for their excellence in the field of traditional Bishnupriya
Manipuri singing & dance and in Art & paintings.
Meingal Bishishto
Seva Puroshkar awardees were Anjana Sinha, Editor of Nua Drishti from
Guwahati(Assam) and Anita Sinha, Editor of Kaakai from Dharmangar(Tripura) for
their life-time dedications in the field of journalism in Bishnupriya Manipuri
and from the field of Social service the awardees were Sushila Sinha from Guwahati, Chitra Lekha Sinha from Rupagram(Dullabcherra)
and Bina Sinha from Tinokhal(Patharkandi). Sukhoda Sinha from Hailakandi is another selected Bishisto Seva
Puroshkar awardee, who was not present on the day.
Meingal Bishishto
Shilpi Puroshkar awardees were Mani Singha, Dakula Bishnupriya Manipuri (Dak) Mridanga Player
from village-Moshauli of Tripura(North), Adhir Sinha, ISHALPA, Bishnupriya Manipuri Kirtani Singer
from village-Bagadohor(Patherkandi), Ajit Kumar Sinha, DOWAR, Bishnupriya Manipuri Kirtani Singer from
village-Shamnagar(Dullabcherra), Kapoksena Sinha (Kalamai), Rajdhari for Bishnupriya Manipuri Raas Dance
& Song from Baskaltilla(West Dullabcherra), Priti Sinha, singer from
Patharkandi and Shakti Kr. Sinha, artist from Guwahati. All these Bishishto awardees were honoured with a Certificate of Excellence, cash Rs.5000/-, a shawl and a momento.
Meritorious
students Surabhi Rajkumari, Rajnandini Singha and Chiranjiv Sinha who passed
the HSLC-2012 with outstanding marks were awarded with the Meingal Scholarship
of Rs.5000/- along with a certificate. Brilliant students from economically
weak families were awarded with the Monthly Educational Allowance @Rs.750 for
12 months(total Rs.9000/- each), the students are Sushmita Sinha, Smriti Sinha
and Rituraj Sinha.
The NGO also awarded to 7 participants of the
Essay Writing on the topic - "Exemplary Role of Women in my
life and in the Bishnupriya Manipuri Society", with cash prize of
Rs.1000/- each and a certificate. The awardees were Manimala Sinha, Jugomaya
Sinha & Bidisha Sinha whereas Rasaboti Sinha, Rooplekha Rajkumari, Rinku
Sinha and Sanchita Sinha are the other awardees who were not present on
the occasion.
Kumkum Sinha, Retd. Director(SCERT), Guwahati witnessed the occassion as Chief Guest along with other distinguished guests Shyam Sunder Singha, President of Radha Madhavjiw Mandir, Radhakundo, Dr. Smriti Kr. Sinha, Professor, Tezpur University, Anjali Sinha, SAO/SSB/FTR, Guwahati and Prabhas Kanti Sinha, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes, Silchar. Ramlal Sinha, Associate Editor of Seven Sisters, Dils Lakhsmindra Sinha,

A live painting by
Shakti Kr. Sinha, artist stole the show by painting with his fingers without
using any brush. The program concluded with a cultural show leaded by
Chandrakanti Sinha, folk singer & lyricist, who brought singers from Bangladesh , Assam and Mumbai. Mira Sinha, Priti
Sinha, Indrani Sarma, Sandhya Sinha and Rahul Sinha were the guest artists,
performance by other child artists and dance programs by local artists made
the evening musical and stole the attention of fans and audience. Subendu Sinha
videographed the entire show.
Vice Chairman Mihir Sinha delivered his welcome speech and Sanjib Sinha, Secretary General delivered his secretarial speech highlighting the philanthropic activities of the NGO. A Souvenir titled 'MEINGAL' was also released on the occasion by Chief Guest Smt. Kumkum Sinha, retd Director, SCERT.
